Megan Wilson, Manager, Private Client team
Having done a module on tax in my Accounting and Finance degree at the University of Liverpool, I knew I wanted a role in tax. I had been in corporate tax previously and knew I wanted to go into personal tax to be client facing and subsequently found my current role at Buzzacott in the Private Client team.
I quickly got involved with advisory work, report writing, article writing – my day is mixed which broadens my experience. I work directly with managers and partners on each project meaning you feel comfortable to approach team members from all levels.
There’re lots of both team and firmwide social events, meaning you get to know people across the company at all levels which is really useful in a work environment. I got involved with these straight away and there have actually been a number of circumstances where knowing people across teams has been useful in directing queries between different specialisms.
One thing I really like about Buzzacott is that each of our personal goals are heard. For instance a member of the audit team completed a secondment to our team after expressing an interest. Different people have different career progression goals and this is reflected in how we operate.
