When I was looking for a new corporate finance role, Buzzacott appealed because I felt it was the perfect size and feel for a firm - not so big that you’re lost but big enough that we’ve got freedom and room for growth. I also liked the entrepreneurial spirit of the team and the firm, it offered an opportunity to help grow and build a fairly new team in an established firm which was exciting.

The Corporate Finance team has more than doubled in size since then, and it’s great to see how the team’s evolved. We’re driven and keen to keep growing, but equally we’re here to enjoy our work too and we get to work with a variety of interesting people and businesses in our roles.

We’re given great opportunities to support social causes at Buzzacott, and a highlight is definitely my time volunteering with Body & Soul and Writing Partners – both were really insightful experiences. Something else I’m really proud of is being appointed to the ICAEW Corporate Finance Board, to represent the member firms (of which we are one) in the Corporate Finance work that we do.

Experiences outside of my day-to-day like this are why I’d encourage new starters to put yourself out there and get involved in things. We want to create a diverse firm of ideas and otherwise, so the more new starters can be a part of that, the better. I’ve really valued and benefited from the different and new ventures I’ve gotten involved in over the years, both personally and professionally.
