Associate (Troncmaster Services)
We are looking for School Leaver to join our TIDR team as an Associate for Troncmaster Services
Our Tax Investigations and Dispute Resolution (TIDR) team are the go-to experts, helping clients with all their communications and representations to HM Revenue & Customs (‘HMRC’). Clients trust us to robustly defend disputes on their behalf, so it is important for us to build a lasting relationship founded on honesty and integrity.
Our Troncmaster Services implement HMRC compliant tronc arrangements that fairly and transparently allocate tips, gratuities, and service charges. Hospitality clients trust us with our expert specialisms, so it is important for us to build a lasting relationship founded on trust.
Role Overview
We are looking for a School Leaver to join the team as an Associate and assist the Senior Caseworkers in their management of a varied portfolio of tronc arrangements, provide administrative support, along with consistent delivery of quality and professional service to hospitality clients. In addition, this is an exciting opportunity to assist with developing and growing our Troncmaster Services offering.
There is also the potential opportunity to study towards the AAT qualification after a few years being fully established in the role.
This role is to start in September 2025.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support with enrolling new clients, including but not limited to presentations, proposals and engagements, and ensuring to follow onboarding processes accurately.
- Assist non-complex tronc allocations, as required.
- Actively seek new business opportunities to build the existing portfolio working with Senior Caseworkers.
- Assist in bi-annual reviews of client tronc arrangements and prepare bi-annual reports to ensure compliance with the tipping legislation.
- Support the Senior Caseworkers conduct annual reviews of client tronc arrangements and prepare HMRC annual reports to ensure compliance with HMRC E24 guidance, and NIC exemption applies.
- Monitor both the Troncmaster mailbox for new enquiries and queries, and the Sharefile portal, for client uploads, ensuring these are dealt within the client management system.
- Liaise with the Team Leader and Senior Caseworkers in connection with monitoring the management of the Troncmaster service’s collective portfolio
- Learn and develop individual knowledge of range of Troncmaster Services offering.
- Develop full understanding of HMRC E24 guidance and all tipping legislation requirements.
Skills and Experience
- 3 A-levels (or equivalent)with a minimum of 120 UCAS points)
- Good GCSE results with a minimum of grade B/level 6 in GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
- Basic skills in MS Office Skillset (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
- Good interpersonal communication skills to interact professionally with internal/external clients.
- Ability to forward-think and make reasoned, risk assessed decisions having established all relevant facts
- Demonstrate ethical judgement
You will also be a team player who works well under pressure; is proactive, enthusiastic and flexible in your approach.
