US Tax Consultant, Graduate
We are looking for a graduate with an enquiring mind and sociable disposition to join our September 2026 intake of trainees in our US/UK Tax team in Hong Kong.
Team Overview
Our Hong Kong team of 5 sits within the wider US/UK tax team, based in the UK, of over 70 people, helping US and UK citizens and businesses based away from home to manage their net earnings and reduce liabilities. Whilst our Hong Kong team looks after US nationals living across Southeast Asia, the wider team consists of dual-qualified US/UK tax experts, 14 partners and strong administration support. Our team know both tax systems inside out and have handled relocations for solo workers, and up to hundreds of employees.
Role Overview
This opportunity sits within our Hong Kong team and will require the successful individual to handle a portfolio of clients, delivering a quality compliance and advisory service to both clients and Managers, as well as identifying opportunities to cross sell the firm’s services.
In order to become fully qualified in US taxation, you will be provided with study support towards the Enrolled Agent qualification.
What You’ll Be Doing
Act principally as a preparer of US tax returns for a portfolio of clients within the Expatriate Tax team but at the same time, look for and notify the client of opportunities in which taxes can be minimised.
Manage a portfolio of up to 150-180 clients, consulting senior team members, where applicable
Deal with ad hoc advice requested by clients, consulting with Managers and Directors where necessary (to ensure that the firm’s review processes are satisfied).
Liaise with your manager in connection with monitoring the management of your portfolio to include: accountability for chargeable and non-chargeable hours and projected billing.
Recognise opportunities for cross-selling of services and “adding value”.
Keep up to date with technical developments of tax law in the US.
Assist in the administration of the Expatriate Tax team as and when requested and when time allows.
Take responsibility in developing one’s IT skills and abilities so that IT equipment may be used to its fullest extent and seeking help and training as appropriate.

What We're Looking For
2.1 degree (or equivalent)
HKDSE (or equivalent): Level 4, 4, 4 excluding Liberal Studies and Citizenship and Social Development.
HKDSE (or equivalent): Level 4 in English Language and Maths
MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
