Tax Manager - Charity
We are seeking a Tax Manager to join our Charity tax team, where you’ll have the opportunity to work with a range of sectors and become a specialist of each.
Team Overview
The Charity Tax team is an independent team that supports the wider Charity audit team, being one of the largest single office charity teams in the UK. The team works with a range of sectors from health to hospitality sectors, meaning that each project you take on will never be the same.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Tax Manager to manage a portfolio of clients, overseeing tax compliance but with a heavy focus on tax advisory, including advice on transactions, property matters, structuring, tax efficient fundraising and employment tax. This role will also require the successful manager to support the continued development and growth of the Charity Tax practice.
What you'll be doing
Act as the point of contact for internal and external clients who have technical or planning queries
Undertake tax planning and advisory projects, reporting to the Partners and working alongside non-tax specialists
Recognise opportunities to cross-sell services
Review tax computations and returns for your portfolio, ensuring there are no outstanding technical issues, and they are complete for Partner review
Budget and plan all tax compliance work for your clients, taking responsibility for the timely delivery of such work
Review the work of junior tax specialists and support them in their development
Market the Charity tax function both inside and outside the firm
Prepare and deliver internal and external seminars, assisting with preparing sector insights
What you'll bring
Relevant corporate tax experience and experience of managing a tax portfolio and liaising with clients
Experience of reviewing other's work, as well as managing and developing others
Ability to review computations and tax disclosures; produce computations and correspondence ready for partner review
Excellent interpersonal skills
General awareness of the charity sector
Ability to take on responsibility; personable; conscientious; professional attitude; good work ethic; self-motivated; able to work to deadlines and under pressure; a multi-tasker
A team player, who is willing to support and develop junior members of the team
